If there is something that is guaranteed to brighten our day it’s a conversation with iconic Haute Couture designer-David Isaac. His designs have led him into our lives and confidently into the fashion world. With 8 years in the Fashion business, the launch of his 2014 women’s wear (Haute Couture) line “The Imperfection of Perfection”, Mr. Isaac showed his craftsmanship, the height of experimentation and design through his new women’s wear collection.
David and I spoke on the phone long distance. We are keen to discuss his designs and impact on the fashion industry. As our conversation unfolds David Isaac reveals himself to be thoughtful, kind, optimistic, driven and considerate. No where is this more apparent than in his 2015 collection named - “Couture vs. Future” partnering in the support of Breast Cancer Awareness. David expressed through soft spoken words - “I want to help find the cure for Cancer”. I applaud him. Bravo!!!
“B” Styled By Da’rrell is here to give you insight on what makes David Isaac tick.
As child his crayons were his friends. Colors, shapes, patterns and texture (which inspires him today) fascinated him taking him into a world of his own. A world filled with boundless imagination and kaleidoscopic dreams. David was destined for greatness!
During David’s high school tenure his passion for Art intensified. He started his first collection in college in 2006 receiving accolades and awards for his talents. His hunger to develop as a creative increased over the years. Using his intuition, his need to find a sense in everything, he then furthered his education studying at Clark University obtaining his Bachelors of Fine Arts in Business (BFA). He then continued onto the renowned Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) receiving his Certification in Draping & Haute Couture.
Considering the amount of time, money and skill that is allotted to each completed piece; David finds time to manage his family, friends, and his position as CEO/Creative Director of Jacques Isaac. Juggling many irons in the fire.
Mr. Isaac-Creative Director of Jaques Isaac has a penchant for designing extraordinary Women’s Haute Couture. I asked David what where his goals for 2015. He replied with burst of laughter, simmered chuckles and great expectations - “big things, new clients, more fashion shows, men’s wear, ladies hand bags and more…” It seems for Isaac there are no limits.
He advises our young generation with the utmost sincerity to follow their dreams, overcome obstacles through perseverance, educate yourself by studying your craft and most of all be self reliant.
David explains that he is a free Spirit when it comes to his style. Although he has an obsession with watches and fabrics along with his favorite colors: blue, purple black and cream. He states “set your own standards, be confident, well dressed-be you”
I am excited to see this individual defying the odds many may face as a Black designer in New York. I pay breathless homage to this designer-CEO/Creative Director of Jacques Isaac-David Isaac and his imperiously elegant reputation. Applause!!
Your father Jaques Isaac Sr. would be proud-his legacy lives on through you…..
Mr. David Isaac continues to soar on wings as an Eagle rising above every situation!! The best is yet to come!!
